The Flin Flon Bombers will look to win their first SJHL championship since 1993 while the Battlefords North Stars look to win their second SJHL championship in the previous three completed seasons.
Flin Flon defeated the Humboldt Broncos in five games in the SJHL Semi-Final series to advance.
Battlefords will end up waiting nine days after it completed a four-game sweep of the Melfort Mustangs in the other SJHL Semi-Final series. The North Stars had a seven-day layoff after they defeated the Weyburn Red Wings in the opening round.
Game Breakers
Bombers: Alexi Sylvestre has 11 points in 12 games and leads all SJHL rookies in playoff scoring. The product of Chateauguay, Quebec had a pair of assists in the series clincher against Humboldt.
North Stars: Kian Bell continues to be a force for Battlefords. The forward leads all SJHL players in goals with 13 in just 9 games. Bell has been held off of the scoresheet just once during the playoffs.
Goaltending
Bombers: Harmon Laser-Hume is 8-2-2 with a 1.75 GAA, .945 SV% and one shutout in 12 starts.
North Stars: Josh Kotai is 8-1 with a 1.60 GAA, .945 SV% and two shutouts in 9 starts. Kotai was recently named the SJHL Goaltender of the Year and is committed to Augustana University’s NCAA Division I program.
Numbers To Know
Bombers: Despite playing the most playoff games out of any team at 12, the Bombers have the fourth least amount of penalty minutes at 153.
North Stars: 1.66 goals-against per game in 9 games. Battlefords has allowed two or fewer goals in seven playoff games. In their series against Melfort, the North Stars held the Mustangs to two or fewer goals in all four games.
