VON SPRECKEN, VOCKLER AND MERCER ADDED TO BOMBERS LEADERSHIP GROUP

Head Coach & General Manager Mike Reagan has announced additions to the 2022-2023 leadership group. Defenceman Alex Von Sprecken and forwards Jacob Vockler and Ethan Mercer have been named alternate captains.

Alex Von Sprecken was acquired from the Estevan Bruins back in October and has produced 14 points (1G-13A) in 30 games since joining the Bombers. Alex was a member of Estevan’s championship team from last season and has appeared in 133 SJHL regular season games. Von Sprecken is currently third among all Bomber players in blocked shots with 42 and has a plus/minus rating of +15.

Jacob Vockler is currently in his second season with the Bombers and is fifth in team scoring with 32 points (10G-22A) in 31 games. The Merrimack College commit finished third in team playoff scoring last spring with 12 points (6G-6A) in 18 games. Vockler also led the Bombers with 4 goals in just 5 games at the Centennial Cup in Estevan last May.

Ethan Mercer was acquired from the AJHL’s Olds Grizzly’s back in November and was a member of the Brooks Bandits last season when they won the Centennial Cup national championship. Prior to joining the Bombers, Ethan was an alternate captain with Olds and has returned to the lineup after missing the last six weeks with an injury.

Von Sprecken, Vockler and Mercer will be alternate captains along side Cole Duperreault, Jaeden Mercier and team captain Lucas Fry.
