The Northland Ford Flin Flon Bomber Player of the Week is ’04 Forward, Anthony Piccininno!
The Toronto, Ontario product has proven to be a great addition to the Flin Flon Bombers and continued to do so this week. On Tuesday night in Nipawin, Piccininno helped the Bombers take the 3-2 win over the Hawks assisting on two big goals to help seal the deal. Then on Friday at the Whitney Forum vs. the Melville Millionaires, Piccininno scored an amazing first period goal from the point to give the Bombers an early 2-0 lead over the Millionaires, which they eventually go on to win 3-2. On Saturday, despite being pointless in the Bombers first loss in 12 matches, Piccininno still had an important presence on the ice, starting good rushes on offence to give the Bombers scoring opportunities, along with using his physicality to make big plays on defense and slow down the Melville offense. After this week, Piccininno has 6 goals and 10 assists for 16 points which makes him tied for 8th in league scoring.
