North Stars Oust Bombers In SJHL Final

The Battlefords North Stars are the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and Centennial Cup bound following a series clinching 7-4 victory over the Flin Flon Bombers on Saturday night at the Whitney Forum.

Jordan Grill and Steven Kesserling provided the offence and Josh Kotai stopped 44 shots as Battlefords won the best-of-seven SJHL championship series 4-0. Kian Bell also chipped in with three points.

Alexi Sylvestre had a hat-trick and Jacob Vockler had a four point night in the loss.

Flin Flon outshot Battlefords 48-36 and had 1-0 and 2-1 leads.

Battlefords defeated Flin Flon 6-2 on Friday night to make it a 3-0 series lead.

The North Stars will represent the SJHL at the Centennial Cup championship, which runs May 11-21 in Portage, Manitoba
