This is your Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap Powered by Canadian Tire.
The Flin Flon Bombers and La Ronge Ice Wolves wrapped up a home and home series this past weekend with both teams earning a win.
On Friday, the La Ronge Ice Wolves secured their first victory inside the Whitney Forum since September 23rd of 2022. It was great back and forth action with both teams leading at some point during the contest. With both teams deadlocked at three a piece, sudden death was required. A missed assignment on the backcheck led to a Hudson Cameron breakaway who made no mistake to give the Ice Wolves a massive win on the road. Bombers 2023 1st Round Draft Pick, Leo Seitz, scored his first career SJHL goal on a beautiful shot off of an odd man rush. Ryder Ringor also scored his first as a Bomber and Austin Montgomery-Parsons notched his second of the season.
In what felt like a must win situation before heading on the road for the next four games, the Bombers put together their most complete effort in the early stages of the 2024-2025 season. The Bombers dominated from start to finish by defeating the Ice Wolves 5-2 at the Mel Hegland Uniplex. Keefe Gruener led the way offensively with a pair of goals. Ryder Ringor and Koen Senft added singles. Meanwhile Evin Bossel was able to bury his first career SJHL goal on a great feed from Seitz. Massimo Urbani had to make just 12 saves for his first career SJHL win.
Next up for the Bombers is their first southern road trip of the season, which begins in Yorkton to take on the undefeated Terriers on Tuesday night.
