After acquiring 2003-born Defenceman Anthony Bax in exchange for 2004-born Forward Ashton Paul and future considerations at last season’s January 10th CJHL Trade Deadline from the MJHL’s Dauphin Kings, the Bombers have completed the future considerations of the deal. 2006-born Defenceman, Daniel Helary will be heading to Dauphin to complete the trade.
Helary was signed by the Bombers this summer but had yet to appear in a game this season with the maroon and white. The 6’4, 205lbs, Calgary, Alberta product spent the previous two seasons with the Prairie Hockey Academy of the CSSHL. Daniel had a strong 2023-2024 season posting 22 points in 28 games from the blueline.
The Bombers acquired Ashton Paul at the beginning of last season from the Northern Manitoba Blizzard and produced 19 points in 28 games. After the move to Dauphin, Paul put up 32 points in 25 regular season games and then added 1 goal in 7 playoff games.
Anthony Bax would finish with 9 points in 19 regular season games from the blue line and contributed to 3 goals and 5 assists in 14 playoff games helping the Bombers reach the SJHL final. Bax was a point-per-game blueliner with Dauphin last season, producing an impressive 32 points in 30 games.
