Flin Flon Bombers Week Preview October 7 – October 13, Powered by Elite Communications

This is your Flin Flon Bombers Week Preview Powered by Elite Communications.

After wrapping up one of the busiest weeks of the season, the Bombers are back in action this weekend with a home-and-home series against the Melfort Mustangs.

The Mustangs currently lead the Sherwood Division with a 5-1-0-0 record and have a one point lead on the Bombers (The Bombers have played two more games than the Mustangs). This past weekend the Mustangs split a home-and-home series with the SJHL leading Melville Millionaires and will be back at the Whitney Forum on Friday night for the first time since Game 5 of the SJHL final just five months ago.

The Bombers will need to find consistency in their game if they want to redeem themselves after dropping a 6-2 decision to the Mustangs back on September 21st in Melfort. The Mustangs recently added WHL veteran defenceman Zach Turner from the Swift Current Broncos to an already deep blueline. Mustangs goaltender Kristian Coombs has had a stellar start to the season posting a 1.81 GAA & .939 SV%. Through the first six games of the regular season the Mustangs penalty kill has been superb, sitting at 93.5%.
