The Flin Flon Bombers have been busy.
Over the last two weeks, the Bombers have pulled off a flurry of roster moves beginning with the additions of Goaltender Jake Torget (06) and Right-Handed Defenceman Nathan Schaefer (06). Torget spent the 2023-2024 season with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds of the BCEHL U18 and posted a 2.06 GAA in 21 starts. Jake was a late cut from the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL and has already appeared in a game for the Bombers stopping 20 of 23 shots in the 4-2 loss to Estevan.
Schaefer chipped in with an assist in two games for the Blackfalds Bulldogs of the BCHL before being released. The Harper Woods, Michigan, product produced an impressive 67 points in 74 games for Victory Honda 18U AAA.
Sitting at seventeen forwards and nine defencemen the Bombers made a couple of moves to trim down the roster.
The Bombers have traded Forward Max Collyer (06) to the MJHL’s Northern Manitoba Blizzard in exchange for a Player Development Fee. The Onanole, Manitoba product was signed by the Bombers in the off-season after spending the previous three seasons with the MU18HL’s Yellowhead Chiefs. Collyer appeared in three games for the Bombers and had an assist in Saturday’s loss to Estevan.
On the backend, the Bombers have moved Conor Ryan (05) to the Nipawin Hawks in exchange for two SJHL Draft Picks (2025 2nd & 2025 4th) and a Player Development Fee. The Bombers also sent back a 2025 5th round pick. Ryan was acquired prior to the CJHL Trade Deadline last season from the Sherwood Park Crusaders. In eight games this season, Ryan had two assists.
