Bombers Win Game 6, Advance To SJHL Semi-Final: Powered By HUDBAY

The Flin Flon Bombers have advanced to the SJHL Semi-Final after defeating the Battlefords North Stars 6-2 on Sunday in game 6 of their SJHL Quarter-Final.

Drew Kuzma and Zak Smith scored just 25 seconds a part to give the Bombers an early 2-0 lead before the North Stars would get on the board with a power play marker from Dylan Esau. Keiton Klein would tie the game at the mid-way point of the second period with his second goal of the playoffs. Jacob Vockler would give the Bombers the lead for good with his fourth goal of the playoffs and Brett Wieschorster would also add his fourth goal of the playoffs less than a minute after the Vockler goal. Gabriel Shipper scored a beautiful breakaway goal a minute into the third period to give the Bombers a 5-2 lead. Lucas Fry would seal the deal with his first career SJHL goal late in the third period.

Depending on the results of game 7 between the Melfort Mustangs and Yorkton Terriers tomorrow night, Flin Flon will either face the Estevan Bruins, who eliminated the Notre Dame Hounds in 5 games or the Humboldt Broncos. Humboldt defeated La Ronge in 6 games in the opening round. If Melfort wins tomorrow night then the Bombers will face Estevan. If Yorkton wins then the Bombers would then face Humboldt.
