SJHL Names 2021-22 Sherwood Division Award Winners

The Flin Flon Bombers are excited to announce that a trio of Bombers have been named SJHL Sherwood Division Award Winners.

Forward Jeremi Tremblay was named SJHL Sherwood Division Rookie of the Year. The Quebec City, Quebec, product had 35 points (16g, 19a) in 37 games this season. Tremblay’s 0.95 points-per-game average was 9th best among all SJHL first year players. Jeremi received an NCAA Division I scholarship to Sacred Heart University last week.

Xavier Lapointe was named SJHL Sherwood Division Defenceman of the Year. Lapointe led all SJHL defencemen in scoring with 50 points (19g, 31a) in 58 games this season. Xavier’s 50 points was also a team high. The Rochester Institute of Technology (NCAA Division I) commit, currently has 2 points (1g, 1a) in 6 playoff games. Lapointe also finished the regular season with a plus/minus rating of +16.

Cal Schell was named SJHL Sherwood Division Goaltender of the Year and Sherwood Division Most Valuable Player. Schell had a breakout season finishing in the top 5 in GAA (2.39) and SV% (.923). Cal’s 25 wins ranked second and his 7 shutouts was a league high. This season Cal broke the Bombers single season shutout record. Earlier in the season, Schell committed to Oswego State University (NCAA Division III).
