Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Bombers had a successful week going 3-1. Earlier this week, the Bombers were in Warman at the annual SJHL Showcase where they faced off against the Yorkton Terriers and Kindersley Klippers.

Rookie forward Jacob Vockler was the lone goal scorer in the game and goaltender Cal Schell made 45 saves to help the Bombers kick off the showcase with a 1-0 win over the Terriers. It was a quick turn around for the Bombers the next day against the Klippers and unfortunately the team was on the losing end this time by a score of 2-1. Cole Duperreault scored his 4th goal of the season in the loss. Goaltender Max Hildebrand made 19 saves.

Flin Flon and Kindersley were back in action this past weekend at the Whitney Forum. The Bombers were able to take advantage of the Klippers depleted lineup and come away with 2 big wins (4-0 & 7-2). Cal Schell posted his second shutout of the week with a 26 save performance and rookie forwards Jeremi Tremblay and Jacob Vockler both had multipoint games. In last night’s 7-2 win, Cole Vardy led the way offensively with a goal and 2 assists. Max Hildebrand made 18 saves for his 2nd win of the season.

The Bombers now sit in 2nd place in the Sherwood Division.

With the addition of defenceman Cory King (02), the Bombers sent defenceman Luke Schaeffer (03) to the Weyburn Redwings for future considerations.
