Bombers Downed by Broncos, Series Tied 2-2

After winning the first two games of the best-of-seven SJHL Quarter-Final Series, the Broncos have stormed back with two overtime victories on home ice to even up the series at 2-2.

On Tuesday night the Bombers were able to overcome a 2-0 deficit in the third period to force overtime off of goals by Bombers captain Cole Tanchuk and forward Landon Alexander. Despite outshooting Humboldt 64-32, Zach Bansley’s return to the lineup was a memorable one as the forward would end the game and give the Broncos some life in the series.

Game four was extremely similar to Game three. The Bombers trailed by two heading into the final frame before storming back to force the game to overtime. However this time it was Broncos forward Kye Benoche who would be the overtime hero with his fourth goal and evening up the series. It was the second night in a row that the Bombers were able to hit 60 shots on net and Ryder Ringor, Ryder Mucha and Keefe Gruener all scored in the loss.

The series now shifts back to Flin Flon for Game 5 on Saturday night.
