The Northland Ford Flin Flon Bombers Player of the Week is ’04 Forward, Keefe Gruener!
This past week, the Winnipeg, Manitoba product had great performances in all 3 of the Bombers games. On Wednesday night against Melfort, despite the loss, Gruener still made a big contribution to the team, being a force on defense and winning important puck battles. On Friday night against La Ronge, Gruener put up an impressive 2 assists to help the team grab the 6-4 win over the Ice Wolves. Then on Sunday, the Bombers took to Nipawin, where Gruener had his most impressive game, scoring a goal in the first period along with having an assist in the 6-3 win over the Hawks. Overall, this past week, Gruener grabbed 3 assists and 1 goal for 4 points in 3 games. Since joining the Bombers at the trade deadline, Gruener has been an important part of the Bombers front end with 3 goals and 3 assists in 16 games.
