Flin Flon Bomber Alumni Forward, Tyson Empey, has signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Hersey Bears of the AHL.
Empey played 4 seasons with the Bombers from 2012 – 2016. Known for his physical style of play, the Swift Current, Saskatchewan native played in 214 games for the maroon and white, where he accumulated 42 goals, 53 assists and 127 penalty minutes.
The 28-year-old has spent the past two seasons with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners. Over two seasons with the Roadrunners, Empey logged 13 total fighting majors in 79 games with 127 penalty minutes, 4 goals and 11 assists. Empey also suited up in 20 games for the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators in 2022-23, where he tallied 4 goals, 5 assists and 34 penalty minutes.
