Former SJHL All-Star and Flin Flon Bomber Andrew Johnston has signed with the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL over in the United Kingdom.
Johnston suited up for the Bombers for two seasons before getting traded to the Royal Bank Cup host, Humboldt Broncos prior to his final junior campaign. In two seasons with the Bombers, Andrew put up 109 points (49g, 60a) in 113 games. At the conclusion of his second season, Andrew was named to the SJHL’s Second All-Star Team.
After getting traded to Humboldt, Johnston would cap off his junior career with an 81 point (29g, 52a) regular season as well as an SJHL and Anavet Cup championships. At the 2012 Royal Bank Cup National Championships, Johnston was the top scorer with 9 points (5g, 4a) in just 5 games and was also named the tournaments Top Forward.
Andrew would then sign an NHL contract with the Philadelphia Flyers and spent four seasons playing in the AHL and ECHL. Johnston has spent the last six seasons playing professional hockey over in Europe.
