Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Flin Flon Bombers were able to win their only game of the week by defeating the Notre Dame Hounds 5-2 last night at the Whitney Forum.

The Bombers were heading into the contest on bit of a losing skid by dropping 3 out of their last 4 games. Despite outshooting the Hounds 25-11 in the opening period, Bombers forward Zach Cain was the only player to find the back of the net. It would take the Hounds less than 3 minutes into the second period to tie the game. Cole Duperreault would break that tie with his 25th of the season. Jeremi Tremblay would extend the Bombers lead with his 22nd of the season.

The Hounds would make things interesting with a power play marker early in the third period but the comeback would fall short. Duperreault would add another pair for his third hat trick of the season. Duperreault’s 27 goals is second most among all SJHL players. Bombers goaltender Harmon Laser-Hume made 22 saves for his 18th win of the season.

With the win, the Bombers improved their record to 24-10-2-1
