This past week the Flin Flon Bombers played back-to-back games at home against the Notre Dame Hounds. The Bombers came out hot on Friday night scoring three goals in the first period, coming from Jacob Vockler, Alexi Sylvestre and Ashton Paul. The Bombers kept it going throughout the second period keeping the Hounds scoreless and putting up another three goals, coming from Jacob Vockler, Trevor Stenglein and Justin Lies. The scoring continued into the third for the Bombers with another two goals from Anthony Piccininno and Fabrice Bourgeois. The Hounds added one of their own to avoid the shutout for a final score of 8-1 for Flin Flon.

The Bombers out shot the Hounds 57 to 27. Kenny Marquart stopped 26 of 27 shots. The Bombers were successful on the PK scoring twice out of nine chances and shut down the Hounds on the PP stopping them all three times.

The Bombers came out firing on all cylinders again on Saturday night in front of a packed crowd of 900. The game showed a lot of the same as the night prior with the Bombers taking a 5-0 lead after two periods. Goals coming from Noah Houle, Alexi Sylvestre, Anthony Piccininno and two from Justin Lies. The Hounds started to show some signs of life putting up two goals in the third period, but it wasn’t enough as the Bombers got three of their own to win 8-2, coming from Noah Houle, Reid Arberry and a third one from Justin Lies to secure the hat trick.

The Bombers out shot the Hounds 45 to 29. Harmon Laser-Hume stopped 27 of 29 shots. The Bombers were successful on the PP going 1/3 and stopped the Hounds both times on the PK.

The Bombers walked away with a total of four points this weekend putting them in second place in the Sherwood Division and the SJHL, one point behind the Melfort Mustangs.
