Flin Flon Bombers Playoff Preview vs Humboldt Broncos

After wrapping up the 2024-2025 regular season with a 4-1 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves, the Bombers will now turn their attention to their first round opponent, the Humboldt Broncos. The Bombers finished the season with a 38-13-4-1 record, good for second place in the overall standings. Meanwhile the Broncos finished in seventh with a 28-22-3-3 record.

Heading into the season many believed the Broncos were the team to beat after their thrilling seven game series against the eventual champion, Melfort Mustangs last April. The team returned ten players from last seasons roster including 71-point forward Jacob Strizzi. Throughout the season the Broncos made many additions to bolster their lineup which included adding SJHL All-Star goaltender Dazza Mitchell and former WHL defenceman Tre Fouquette. Humboldt is a very experienced group having 17 players on their roster with junior hockey experience prior to this season.

The Bombers and Broncos faced off four times this season with the Bombers winning the season series 3-1. The Broncos won the opener 4-3 before dropping the next three games by scores of 2-1, 2-1 and 4-2. This will be the fourth meeting in the playoffs between the two clubs since 2020.
