Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Flin Flon Bombers split a pair of home games this week beginning with a 6-2 win over the Nipawin Hawks followed by a 3-2 loss to the Notre Dame Hounds.

In the 6-2 win over Nipawin, Jaxon Martens led the way offensively with a pair of goals meanwhile Drew Kuzma, Jaeden Mercier and Rylan Thiessen chipped in with a goal and an assist. Goaltender Ben Montgomery stopped 16/18 shots for his 4th win of the season.

Despite outshooting the Hounds 51-27, Notre Dame would come away with a huge road win which now has them in a playoff spot. Drew Kuzma and Gabriel Shipper were the Bomber goal scorers.

The Bombers loss is now their 5th in the last 6 games. In the 6 games the Bombers outshot the opposition 268-163.

The Bombers now see themselves in a dog fight for 3rd place overall in the SJHL standings and 1st place in the Sherwood Division. Flin Flon is tied at 67 points with Melfort, with the Bombers having a game in hand. Battlefords is a point behind the Bombers, with the North Stars having a game in hand.
