The Flin Flon Bombers have advanced to the SJHL Semi-Final with a 5-0 win over the Humboldt Broncos in Game 6 of the SJHL Quarter-Final at the Elgar Petersen Arena on Monday night.
Luke Lepper, Joey Lies, Ryder Ringor, Landon Alexander and Reid Arberry scored, and goaltender Matthew Kieper made 23 saves for his third shutout of the series. The Bombers converted once on eight chances on the man-advantage and were able to kill off all three of their penalties.
Ryder Ringor led the Bombers in scoring throughout the series with 6 goals and 6 assists and currently leads all SJHL players in playoff scoring. The Bombers power play was a league high 25.6% among all eight playoff teams and their penalty kill was 82.6%.
The Bombers will now shift their focus to the Viterra Division champion Weyburn Red Wings who knocked off the Battlefords North Stars in 6 games. The Bombers and Red Wings split their four games during the regular season.
In the other Semi-Final, the defending SJHL champion Melfort Mustangs will take on the Yorkton Terriers. Both series are expected to begin on Friday night.
