The Flin Flon Bombers are happy to congratulate, Alumni defenseman, Cory Thomas on re-signing with the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL for the 2023-2024 season.
Thomas played two season for the Bombers from 2015 to 2017. During his time with the Bombers, Thomas tallied 5 goals and 15 assists in 116 games. Standing at 6’5, Thomas was great shot blocker and had a big presence on the Bombers blueline helping them get to the finals in both of his seasons. After his time with the Bombers, Thomas went on to play at the University of Vermont for 4 seasons from 2017-2021. He appeared in 100 games with Vermont, recording 2 goals, 4 assists and 65 blocked shots. Thomas played the 2021/22 season at Canisius College where he recorded 34 games, 2 goals and 1 assist. Near the end of the season, Thomas played in 8 games for the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.
Last season, Thomas got signed to the Grizzlies , where appeared in 41 and tallied 7 assists along with bring his large presence to the blueline.
The Bombers are very happy for Cory and will continue to wish him the best in his hockey career!
