Flin Flon Bombers Week Preview November 18 – November 24, Powered by Elite Communications

This is your Flin Flon Bombers Week Preview Powered by Elite Communications.

After coming away with two road wins in Kindersley this past weekend, the Bombers look to continue to climb the SJHL standings. The Bombers take on the Nipawin Hawks in a pair of games this weekend beginning on Friday night in Flin Flon.

The Bombers have won four in a row and are currently sitting in the final playoff spot with a 10-9-1-0 record. Nipawin is coming off of their most successful weekend of the season picking up three out of a possible four points. The Hawks fell in overtime to the SJHL leading Melfort Mustangs and then were able to pick up a 1-0 win in Humboldt.

Both teams are playing their best hockey of the season so far so this will be a great test for both clubs. It could be a goaltending battle between both goaltenders for both clubs. Hawks goaltender Gage Roberts was named the SJHL rookie of the week after picking up his first career SJHL win and shutout against Humboldt. Nathan Claydon was acquired from the Kindersley Klippers two weeks ago and has a .905 SV% in six SJHL games. The Bombers tandem of Matthew Kieper and Kenneth Marquart has been solid. Kieper was recently named SJHL goaltender of the week and is 3-0 since joining the Bombers. Marquart is 2-1 in his last three starts and in that time has posted a .937 SV%.
