Bombers drop game 4, Game 5 goes Tonight in Nipawin

After dropping game 4 to the Hawks by a score of 5-2 Wednesday night, the Bombers look to keep their playoff lives alive, with Game 5 going tonight in Nipawin.

Bottom line; Win- and the Bombers will force a 6 at home. Lose- the season ends.

Flin Flon is no stranger to being down 3-1 against the Hawks, as last year the Bombers found themselves down 3-1 before storming back to win game 7 at home.

The Bombers will have to find a way to stay out of the penalty box. Despite not allowing any power play goals, it took valuable time off the clock, and killed the momentum.

They were able to fire 38 shots on Nipawin’s starting goalie Declan Hobbs, and Hobbs came up with some timely saves.

Brendan Newton (Medicine Hat, AB), stopped 24/28 shots he faced, and was equally as spectacular as his counterpart on the other side of the rink. Nipawin had to be perfect to get anything past Newton, as he has not allowed a bad goal all series.

Tonight’s do or die matchup should prove to be the premier game of the series so far, with Flin Flon looking to extend their series, and Nipawin will not want history to repeat itself.

Game time from Nipawin will be 7:30 SK time, and 8:30 MB time.

If Flin Flon does win, game 6 will go back in Flin Flon Saturday, 7:30 MB time.

Hopefully the Bombers will get a huge boost from the best fans in the league, and we can help the boys out by being loud and proud at the Cage. Let’s get behind our team, bring it back to the Whitney Forum!
