Houle-Villeneue's Hat-trick Leads Bombers Over Hounds in Elimination Game

Donavan Houle-Villeneuve had a hat-trick, while Brandson Hein added the empty net goal as the Flin Flon Bombers have eliminated the Notre Dame Hounds in game 3.

In the third and final game, one team was going home. Game one seen Notre Dame’s Smedsrud score 3, game two had Hounds Jack Flaman score 3, and game three would see 18 year old Bomber rookie Donavan Houle-Villeneuve (Montreal, PQ), get 3.

Donavan Houle-Villeneuve led the way for the Maroon and White with his first ever SJHL hat-trick. In 3 games, Houle finished the series with 6 goals.

Brandson Hein (Winnipeg, MB), would score his 3rd goal of the series (unassisted), into the empty net, as the Bombers eliminated the Notre Dame Hounds in the SJHL’s Survivor Series.

After a scoreless first period, it would take Houle-Villeneuve until the half way point of the second period to beat Notre Dame’s Jack Ryan. Caleb Moretz (Fairbanks, AK), had the assist.

Jack Flaman replied for the Hounds at 1:24 into the third. Flaman finishes with 7 points in the series (4g, 3a).

Donavan Houle-Villeneuve would add his second of the night at 7:31 into the period, with Masson Martin (Winnipeg, MB), getting the assist. This would stand up as the series clinching goal.

Villeneuve would cap off his 3 goal performance at the 15:20 mark on turn in the Hounds end. Mike Wong (Calgary, AB), would get the assist.

Brenden Newton finished with 34/35 saves with another stellar performance in the Win.
