Fresh off Gold at the World Junior A Challenge, forward Chrystopher Collin (Bois De Fillion, QC) has been named to Team West at this year’s CJHL Prospects Game.
“Chrys has really been impressing scouts during his stint at the Canada West camp and tournament,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan, who also served as bench boss for Canada West. “He has had a great season so far.”
Collin has 23 points (14g, 9a) in 24 games including seven power play goals and three game winners, both good enough to lead the team.
He was held pointless in five games at the World Junior A Challenge, but it was his overall play that was turning heads.
“It was the things he did without the puck; forecheck, physical play, he did that with Canada West,” added Reagan.
Collin joins Cole Wilson (2007), Michael Young (2008), Andrew Johnson (2009), Brett Boehm (2013) and Cory Thomas (2016) as Bombers that have participated in the annual game, and is one of only two SJHLers playing with Humboldt Broncos goaltender Jacob Wasserman being the other.
Introduced in 2005, the CJHL Prospects Game is one of the premier Junior A hockey events in the country and provides tremendous exposure for CJHL players to play in front of scouts from all over the hockey world – including the NHL, CHL, NCAA and Canadian universities and colleges.
This year’s contest will be held in Mississauga, ON January 23rd.
