Bombers Host Stars

By Flin Flon Bombers, 10/07/16, 12:45PM CDT

Flin Flon and Battleford renew pleasantries this weekend after their last meeting in the playoffs last season.

The Flin Flon Bombers return to action tonight after a successful weekend against the Melville Millionaires last Friday and Saturday.

With a pair of wins against the Mills, Flin Flon sits atop the Sherwood Division with a 6-1-1 record, three points up on second place Nipawin.  Overall the Bombers are second in the SJHL, three back of the red hot Humboldt Broncos and one up on third place Battlefords North Stars.

Speaking of the Stars, they will be welcomed to the Whitney Forum this weekend with a pair of games (Game Time: 7:30 PM – Radio: 102.9 CFAR Saturday Only.)

The last time these two teams met was back in the playoffs when Flin Flon beat the Stars in five games to advance on their way to their first SJHL Final in 23 years.

The Bombers have a near perfect record at home ice (4-0-1-0) with their lone blemish coming in an OT loss against the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

The Stars come in a league baest 4-1-0-0 road record, which will make a great matchup this weekend.

After this weekend’s games, the Bombers will hit the road for a four game in five night trip starting in Humboldt on Wednesday.
