The Flin Flon Bombers are proud to announce that 1995 born forward Tyson Empey (Swift Current, SK) has committed to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons NCAA Division III men’s hockey team for the 2016-17 season.
A four year Bomber, Empey finished up his last season with the club with 29 points (14g, 15a) in 46 games and added another 11 points (5g, 6a) in 16 games while serving as the team’s captain and helping guide the Bombers to their first SJHL final in 23 years.
“We’re really excited for Tyson to continue this hockey while gaining and education,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan. “Emps was a great leader on this team, gave everything he could to try to win this community a championship. For that we will forever be grateful.”
In 184 games with the maroon and white he had 76 points (34g, 46a) and added another 18 points (8g, 10a) in 30 post season games.
Empey will join former Bomber defenseman Brandt Weldon (The Pas, MB) on the Falcons’ roster. The two played together with the Bombers in 2012-13.
