Weekend Preview

By Flin Flon Bombers, 01/30/15, 3:45PM CST

The Bombers look finish up their four game road trip with a game tonight against the Weyburn Red Wings and another tomorrow night against the Notre Dame Hounds.

The Flin Flon Bombers will look to right the ship, after two heart breaking losses to start their four game road trip, when they finish up with a pair of game this weekend starting tonight in Weyburn.

The Bombers (23-8-6-6) are fresh off a pair of 5-4 extra time losses, Tuesday night against the Nipawin Hawks in overtime and Wednesday night in Estevan in a shootout, a pair of games that Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan says could have went either way.

"I've said this a few times, and I mean it," said Reagan today before the team loaded the bus to go to Weyburn from their hotels in Regina, "we've been the better team in both games and deserved at least one of the wins."

The Bombers have gained their scoring touch they had at the start of the season when they lead the league in goals for, having scored 23 goals in four games.  The team has allowed 15 goals over their last three games, something Reagan is looking to improve on starting tonight in Weyburn (Game Time: 7:30 - Radio: 102.9 CFAR).

The Red Wings (18-19-6-2) are in a fight of their own in the Viterra Division.  Despite the below .500 record, they have a shot at a playoff spot, and a good one at it as they are only two points behind the first place Melville Millionaires, which would result in the third see overall in the playoff picture.

The Bombers have a 2-0-0-1 record against the Wings, their only loss coming back in October when they were edged by Weyburn 4-3 in a shootout.

The one positive is that the Bombers haven't lost ground when it comes to second place in the Sherwood Division and fourth place overall.  The two points have allowed them to keep pace with the Hawks, trailing only by one point with a game in hand.

Tomorrow the Bombers finish up the trip with a date in Wilcox, SK against the Notre Dame Hounds (Game Time: 7:00 - Radio 102.9 CFAR).

The Hounds (26-13-1-3) sit in second in the Kramer Division but are 13 points back of the Kindersley Klippers, but are only two points back of the Bombers for fifth in the SJHL and a better playoff seed.

The Bombers hold a 2-0-1-0, including the first loss for the Hounds this season as they started the 2014-15 campaign with eight straight wins.

After tomorrow night, the Bombers will host the Battlerfords North Stars on Wednesday night.
