Young finished up his senior year with the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks of the NCHC which is a Division I league in the NCAA.   This year in Nebraska, Young had 22 points (3g, 19a) in 37 games helping the Mavericks to a third place sitting in the NCHC with a 13-9-2-1 record.  He also served as the team’s captain this past season.

In the past four seasons after leaving Flin Flon, Young has been to the Philadelphia Flyers and the Winnipeg Jets Development camps and signed a Professional Tryout Contract with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League after finishing up with Nebraska.  He saw action in one game with the Admirals.

Young accepted a scholarship to UNO after playing three seasons with the Flin Flon Bombers (2007-2010) and served as team captain in his final season.  Over his three seasons in the Maroon and White he had 125 points (36g, 89a) in 154 games.
