Flin Flon fired 44 total shots on the Nipawin Hawks goal, scoring seven times in total including four in the third to blow the game wide open taking a 2-1 season series lead with a 7-2 win.
The Bombers blew out of the gates scoring one minute into the first of the stick of Conrad Litke, his first of the series and his first of two on the night.
Nipawin would tie things up in the second, but that tie would only last three minutes when Brett Penner scored his fourth of the season to take the lead. The Bombers would not look back.
Andy Blanke scored his first of the playoffs, a shorthanded marker 25 seconds later. His goal would be the eventual game winner.
Josh Roach would score his third of the playoffs just 17 seconds into the third to start to put the game out of reach for the Hawks.
Brandt Weldon, Litke and Dillan McCombie would round out the scoring in the third. McCombie’s goal with 6:16 left in the period was his first and the first power play goal of the series.
The Bombers look to keep things going tonight in game 4 at the Whitney Forum.
ICE CHIPS: As stated above the Bombers would finally score the series’ first power play goal and finished 1 for 7 compared to the Hawk’s 0 for 6. --- There was 1,032 people last night at the game, and a take home of over $3,800 for the 50/50. --- To go along with his power play goal, McCombie also assisted on two others. Riley Storzuk also hit the score sheet with two assists.
