The Flin Flon Bombers are excited to announce that graduating forward and team captain Matt Flodell has committed to the University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils (Division III) for the upcoming season.

The Prince Albert native spent three seasons with the Bombers and produced 20 points (8g, 12a) in 93 career SJHL regular season games.

“We are very happy to see Matt’s hard work pay off. He’s been a tremendous leader for us and truly embraced what being a Bomber is all about. He’s the type of player that every championship team needs. Matt made us a tougher team to play against and was an exceptional penalty killer.” – Mike Reagan, Bombers Head Coach & GM

Flodell was a 5th round draft pick by the Bombers in the 2015 SJHL Draft and was given the Bombers Hardest Worker Award at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season.

“After talking with the coaching staff and players it brought a comfortable feeling and reminded me a lot of the culture in Flin Flon that our teams had. I can’t wait to experience what Stout has to offer!” – Matt Flodell

The University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils currently compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The Blue Devils finished the 2020-21 season with a 4-7 record.
