Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Flin Flon Bombers split a pair of home games this past weekend against the Yorkton Terriers.

On Friday night the Bombers would extend their winning streak to five games with a decisive 8-3 win. Jaeden Mercier would lead the way offensively with a five point night. Meanwhile, forwards Liam Bridger and Jeremi Tremblay also found themselves on the score sheet four times. Liam Bridger, Jeremi Tremblay (2), Jacob Vockler (2), Alexi Sylvestre (2) and Jaxon Martens were the Bomber goal scorers.

Last night was a much different contest. The Terriers would open the scoring at the 11:05 mark of the opening period. Jaxon Martens would even the score with his seventh goal of the season in the second period. Jaeden Mercier’s assist on the goal extends his points streak to six games. Terriers forward Greg Nelson broke the tie with just two minutes remaining in regulation to snap the Bombers five game winning streak handing the Bombers a 3-1 loss. Terriers goaltender Caleb Allen was sensational making 49 saves. Meanwhile Bombers goaltender Harmon Laser-Hume was less busy in net making just 19 saves.

The loss drops the Bombers record to 13-4-1-1 but the team is still currently in first place in the Sherwood Division. The Bombers will now head on the road for the next five games, beginning on Tuesday night in Nipawin. Flin Flon will then head to North Battleford to take on the North Stars in a pair of games and then wrapping up the trip on Sunday in Humboldt.
