Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Flin Flon Bombers will be hanging a Sherwood Division title banner in the Whitney Forum.

The Bombers clinched the division with a 4-3 win last night over the visiting Nipawin Hawks. The Hawks would get on the board first and would nearly have a 1-0 lead heading into the third period until Alexi Sylvestre tied the game with less than two seconds remaining in the second period. The Bombers would build a 4-1 lead with goals from Ethan Mercer, Brent Gulenchyn and Joey Lies. Nipawin would cut the deficit to one with just ten seconds remaining but couldn’t find the equalizer.

Earlier in the week, the Bombers travelled to Yorkton and Humboldt. On Tuesday night in Yorkton, the Bombers defeated the Terriers 4-1 to win their fourth straight. Zach Cain had a pair of goals meanwhile Cory King and Gulenchyn would score as well.

The Bombers four game winning streak would get snapped in Humboldt. The Broncos skated away with a 3-2 shootout win over the Bombers. Brock Mueller and Reece Richmond scored in the loss.

The Bombers have points in six straight games and currently have a 36-13-2-2 record with three games remaining in the regular season.
