Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Flin Flon Bombers hosted the CJHL’s number one ranked team the Battlefords North Stars in a pair of games this past weekend.

On Friday night the Bombers came to play. Brent Gulenchyn and Cole Duperreault would give the Bombers a 2-0 lead in the first period. Liam Bridger’s power play marker would extend the Bombers lead to three heading into the final period. Flin Flon would add another three goals and shut out the North Stars with a 6-0 statement win. Bombers goaltender Harmon Laser-Hume would make just 15 saves for his fourth shutout of the season.

Last night despite outshooting the North Stars 40-24, a slow start would cost the Bombers. After a scoreless first period, the North Stars would erupt for three straight goals. Zach Cain and Jacob Vockler would cut the deficit to one however a late breakaway goal by North Stars forward Kian Bell would seal the deal for the North Stars for their 41st win of the season.

With the loss, the Bombers record stands at 31-13-2-1 and are two points behind the Humboldt Broncos for second place in the SJHL standings.
