Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Flin Flon Bombers dropped their lone game of the week in a shootout to the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

Defenceman Cory King would open the scoring with his first career SJHL goal with less than three minutes remaining in the opening period. The Bombers would then get themselves in penalty trouble with La Ronge scoring the equalizer on their second power play of the game. Despite outshooting the Ice Wolves 14-5 in the third period, both teams would remain tied.

Ice Wolves forwards Dylan Handel and Ethan Strik both scored in the shootout while Bomber forwards Jaeden Mercier and Cole Duperreault’s attempts would be stopped. Ice Wolves goaltender Dawson Smith was busy in net making 42 saves for his first win of the season. Bombers goaltender Harmon Laser-Hume made his third straight start in net and made 30 saves in the losing effort.

The Bombers will now travel to Warman, Saskatchewan for the SJHL’s annual showcase, which begins on Sunday.
