Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Flin Flon Bombers wrapped up a disappointing road trip this past weekend going 1-2 with losses from the Humboldt Broncos and the Kindersley Klippers.

In Humboldt, the Bombers got off to a rocky start by giving up 2 goals within the first 7 minutes of the opening period. Jaeden Mercier would cut the deficit in half with his 9th goal of the season. The Broncos would extend their lead to 4-1 at the half way mark of the 2nd period. Jeremi Tremblay would capitalize on the power play but that would be as close as the Bombers would get. Humboldt would add an empty net goal and take this one 5-2.

The Bombers would avoid going on a 3 game losing streak by defeating the Kindersley Klippers 4-2. Defenceman Reece Richmond led the way offensively with 3 assists. Jacob Vockler also had himself a multipoint game. Zach Cain would find the back of the net for his 1st as a Bomber after coming over in a trade with the Melville Millionaires. Mercier and Tremblay also scored in the win. Rookie goaltender Kenneth Marquart picked up his 6th win of the season.

Despite outshooting the Klippers 42-16, the Bombers would fall 3-2 on Saturday night. Jaeden Mercier had both goals in the loss.

The Bombers have now lost 3 out of their last 4 games but still sit in 2nd place overall in the SJHL standings with a 23-10-2-1 record.
