Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap January 6 – January 12, Powered by Canadian Tire

This is your Flin Flon Bombers Week Recap Powered by Canadian Tire.

The Flin Flon Bombers got back in the win column in a big way defeating the Nipawin Hawks 9-2 at the Whitney Forum. Wyatt Stinton’s first career SJHL hat-trick led the way for the Bombers meanwhile Anthony Piccininno also had himself a night putting up 2 goals and 3 assists. Landon Alexander had a pair of goals and Leighton Carruthers and Koen Senft added singles.

The Bombers then travelled to Humboldt to take on the Broncos in a pair of games. The Broncos were one of the busier teams at the CJHL Trade Deadline, acquiring 20-year-olds Cade Kennedy and Liam Rodman. Last week the Broncos had acquired SJHL veteran goaltender Dazza Mitchell from the Weyburn Red Wings.

On Saturday night the Bombers came away with a gutsy 2-1 win to begin the weekend series. Recently acquired defenceman Liam Hunks scored his first goal as a Bomber while local product Ryder Mucha scored the game winning goal in the second period. The following night the Bombers would complete the weekend sweep defeating the Broncos 4-2. Luke Lepper, Carter Cormier, Keefe Gruener and Reid Arberry all scored in the win.

The Bombers improved their record to 23-9-2-1 and are 4 points ahead of the Yorkton Terriers for 2nd place in the overall SJHL standings.
