The Bombers won their third straight with a 5-1 win over the Notre Dame Hounds to begin the weekend series. Keefe Gruener, Koen Senft, Anthony Piccininno, Ryder Mucha and Ryder Ringor all had multipoint games. The Bombers special teams was red hot going 2 for 5 on the power play while also scoring short-handed. The Bombers currently lead the SJHL in short-handed goals with 13. Goaltender Kenneth Marquart picked up his tenth win of the season making 18 saves.
Last night the Bombers completed the weekend sweep of the Hounds defeating them 4-1. Carter Cormier had a pair of goals while Gruener and Pierce Yakimchuk added singles. Gruener’s opening goal was his 30th of the season and he now leads all SJHL players in goals.
Flin Flon now has a 10 point lead for 2nd place ahead of the 3rd place Weyburn Red Wings.
