After completing their five game homestand, the Bombers will hit the road this week with just one game in Melfort on Wednesday night. The Mustangs are currently sitting in first place overall with a 10-3-0-0 record and are 2-0 this season against the Bombers. The Bombers will look to build off of their 2-1 win on Saturday night against Humboldt, which snapped the team’s five game losing streak.
Melfort is considered to be the SJHL’s most well-rounded team as the Mustangs sit in the top five in goals scored (47), goals against (30), power play (24.2%) and penalty kill (88.4%). Forwards Logan Belton and Reilley Kotai are in the top five in league scoring. Defencemen Ty Thornton and Nicholas Andrusiak are both tied for second in defencemen scoring and goaltender Kristian Coombs has a sparkling 2.04 GAA & .932 SV%.
