After an eight day layoff, the Bombers will return to action this weekend when the Melfort Mustangs visit the Whitney Forum on Friday night. The Mustangs currently hold a 3-1 season series lead on the Bombers and have an SJHL leading .786 winning percentage. The Bombers and Mustangs faced off three times in October. Flin Flon defeated Melfort 6-3 on home ice before dropping the next two on the road 4-1 and 3-2.
The following night the Bombers will head to Nipawin for their second match of the season. The Bombers defeated the Hawks 4-3 in the team’s home opener back on September 20th. Nipawin is currently at the bottom of the SJHL standings with a 2-11-1-0 record and will be looking for their first win since October 11th. The Bombers sent former defenceman Conor Ryan to Nipawin on October 10th. Ryan currently has 3 assists in 6 games since joining the Hawks.
