As the post-season approaches the Bombers will look to finish the regular season start with just five regular season games remaining.
This weekend the Bombers host the Battlefords North Stars for a pair of games beginning on Friday night. The Bombers and North Stars have played each other twice with each team securing a win. Battlefords is currently leading the Nutrien Division by two points on the Humboldt Broncos and they’re riding a four game winning streak after defeating the Estevan Bruins this past weekend.
The North Stars have four players with 40 plus points (Campbell 50, Ivashchenko 50, Anderson 44 and Williams 41) and have scored the second most goals out of all SJHL clubs with 194 in 52 games. North Stars Goaltender Justen Maric is considered one of the top goaltenders in the SJHL and has posted a 3.24 GAA and .909 SV%. Maric posted a 3.00 GAA and .923 SV% during his last two starts against the Bombers.
Battlefords clinched a playoff spot last weekend and the Bombers can clinch the number two seed with a win or else a Weyburn Red Wings lost.
