Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Bombers took care of business winning all 3 games this week and now sit in 2nd place in the SJHL, trailing Melfort by 1 point.

On Tuesday night, the Bombers traveled to Nipawin to take on their division rival and they came out with a gritty 2-1 win. Rookie forward Jeremi Tremblay scored the game winning goal halfway through the 2nd period and goaltender Cal Schell made 26 saves for the win.

The Bombers hosted Melville for a pair of games this past weekend. During Friday night’s contest the Bombers trailed 3-1 after the 1st period and then scored 8 unanswered goals to win the game 9-3. The Bombers top line of Cole Duperreault, Jaxon Martens and Jaeden Mercier combined for 12 points and rookie forwards Cabrel LaBossiere and Jacob Vockler scored their first career SJHL goals. Cal Schell picked up his 6th win of the season and currently sits 2nd in wins among SJHL goaltenders, trailing Humboldt’s Rayce Ramsay (7 wins).

The fans got their money’s worth during last nights 4-3 overtime win. Forward Nathan Gagne scored 2 minutes into the extra frame to cap off a 3 point night for the St-Jerome, Quebec, product. Forwards Brett Wieschorster and Nathan Flodell scored their first career SJHL goals in the contest. Goaltender Max Hildebrand made 29 saves for his 3rd win of the season.
