Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Bombers had a disappointing final week of the 2021-22 regular season losing all 3 games.

The Bombers had a home and away series with the Melfort Mustangs with the Sherwood Division title on the line. Melfort was able to steal 2 points for their first victory in the Whitney Forum this season with a 3-2 win. Drew Kuzma and Mason Kaspick were the Bomber goal scorers. Flin Flon had a 2-0 lead after the first period until Melfort would storm back with 3 goals all in the second period.

The same teams were back in action on Thursday night in Melfort. The Bombers had another 2 goal lead before Melfort would come from behind once again and defeat the Bombers 5-4. Gabriel Shipper had a pair of goals and Xavier Lapointe had himself a 3 point night (1g, 2a).

The next night the Bombers travelled to North Battleford to take on the North Stars. Despite outshooting the North Stars 49-34, the Bombers would fall 4-1. Jaeden Mercier was the lone Bomber goal scorer.

The Flin FlonĀ  Bombers finished the 2021-22 SJHL regular season with a 34-21-2-1 record, which has them finishing 2nd in the Sherwood Division and 5th place overall in the SJHL standings.

The Bombers will find out their quarter final opponent tomorrow night after the Battlefords North Stars and Notre Dame Hounds game.

The playoffs are set to begin on Friday, March 18th.
