Bombers Week Recap: Powered By Canadian Tire

The Bombers were able to get 3 out of a possible 4 points this past weekend against the Humboldt Broncos.

Friday night the Bombers trailed 3-1 in the 3rd period and were able to tie the game with a Nathan Gagne goal with just 9 seconds left in regulation. Unfortunately the Bombers were unable to solve William Dyke in the shootout and the Broncos took this one 4-3. Rookie forwards Jeremi Tremblay and Jacob Vockler were the other Bomber goal scorers. Ferris State commit, Connor McGrath, had a pair of goals for the Broncos.

Last night the Bombers got off to a great start outshooting the Broncos 21-5 and building a 3-0 lead after the 1st period. The Broncos made things interesting late in the game but the Bombers were able to hold on for a 6-3 win. Cole Duperreault, Jaxon Martens, Zak Smith, Jeremi Tremblay, Cole Tanchuk (1st career SJHL goal) and Jacob Vockler scored in the win. Vockler extended his point streak to 9 games.

Flin Flon is now tied for 3rd place in the overall SJHL standings with the Battlefords North Stars with 37 points. Estevan and Humboldt are tied in 1st place with 44 points.
