The Flin Flon Bombers will be hitting the road for 4 games this week beginning Tuesday night in Yorkton.
The Terriers and Bombers have played each other twice so far this season with the Bombers winning 1-0 and 2-0. Goaltender Cal Schell recorded both shut outs. Yorkton is currently sitting in 6th place overall in the SJHL standings.
The Bombers will travel to Notre Dame on Wednesday to face the Hounds. The season series is even at 1-1 with both teams winning on home ice. The Hounds are led by captain Kevin Anderson who is slated to attend Princeton University. Anderson is currently 4th in SJHL scoring with 50 points (18g, 32a) in just 37 games.
The team will have a day off on Thursday before travelling to Estevan for a tilt against the 2022 Centennial Cup host. The Bruins are sitting in 2nd place overall in the SJHL standings but have 3 games in hand on the SJHL leading Humboldt Broncos. The Bruins currently have 4 of the SJHL’s top 20 scorers (Mark Rumsey, Olivier Pouliot, Mikol Sartor and Caelan Fitzpatrick).
Flin Flon will wrap up the southern road swing on Saturday night in Weyburn. The Red Wings currently sit in last place in the SJHL’s standings however they were able to steal a game in Flin Flon early in December. Bombers forward Drew Kuzma will get an opportunity to face his former team. Kuzma was acquired from the Red Wings prior to the January 10th CJHL trade deadline and currently has 4 points (1g, 3a) in 8 games with the maroon and white.
