The Bombers take on the La Ronge Ice Wolves this weekend in a home and home series. The two teams haven’t played each other since the beginning of the season where the Bombers won both games 7-4 and 6-4. The Ice Wolves currently sit in 8th place overall however they’re 7-3-0-0 in their last 10 games and are currently on a 4 game winning streak.
When healthy, goaltender Xavier Cannon has been the backbone of this La Ronge team. The Ice Wolves are 10-5-0-1 when Cannon is in net. Forwards Gavin Mattey and Brandon Della Paolera are currently tied for the team lead in scoring with 28 points in 32 games.
After the weekend the Bombers will be heading home for Christmas break and will return to Flin Flon on Tuesday, December 28th to prepare for another weekend series against La Ronge.
