Bombers Week Preview: Powered By Elite Communications

The Flin Flon Bombers prepare for another busy week as they take on the Nipawin Hawks and Weyburn Red Wings.

Tuesday night the Bombers travel to Nipawin where the Hawks are currently sitting in last in the Sherwood Division with a 10-13-0-5 record. The two clubs have faced off 3 times this season with the Bombers leading the season series 2-1-0-0. The Bombers won the last contest 5-1 back on November 23rd at the Whitney Forum. Former Nipawin Hawks forward Tad Kozun has replaced long time Hawks Head Coach & General Manager, Doug Johnson, as the interim Head Coach & General Manager.

This weekend the Bombers host Weyburn for a pair of games at the Whitney Forum. Friday nights contest is our annual Northland Ford Teddy Bear toss game. The Red Wings sit in last place overall with a 7-16-3-0 record. The Bombers and Red Wings have played each other just once back in October where the Bombers won 6-4.

The Bombers currently have 3 players that sit in the SJHL’s top 20 leading scorers. Zak Smith and Jaxon Martens share the team lead with 27 points while Cole Duperreault currently has 25 points. Cal Schell has posted the 2nd most wins among all SJHL goaltenders with 14 and his 4 shutouts is still a league best.

Flin Flon is 6-3-0-1 in the last 10 games.
