The Flin Flon Bombers 5 game home stand comes to an end tomorrow night against the Nipawin Hawks. The Hawks and Bombers have played each other twice with both teams getting wins on enemy soil. Nipawin defeated Flin Flon 4-1 back on September 28th and the Bombers returned the favour with a 2-1 on October 12th.
Nipawin is 9-10-0-3 and sit 9 points behind the Bombers in the Sherwood Division. Forward Andrew Schaab is the Hawks leading scorer with 17 points (5g, 12a) in 22 games. Former Bomber, Jack Michell, was recently acquired by the Hawks from Kindersley. Michell is expected to make his Hawks debut tomorrow night against his former squad.
Later in the week the Bombers head to Humboldt for a pair of games. This will be the 1st meeting between the two clubs since the 2020 SJHL playoffs where the Bombers defeated the Broncos in a 4 game sweep in the quarter finals.
The Broncos currently sit 1st overall in the SJHL standings with a record of 19-5-0-0. Humboldt’s 97 goals is a league high and they have 4 of the top 6 SJHL scorers. Forward Connor McGrath recently received a Division I scholarship to Ferris State University. Goaltender, Rayce Ramsay, has been a workhorse for the Broncos, appearing in 23 of the teams 24 games. Ramsay’s 19 wins is an SJHL best and his 2.11 GAA is ranked 3rd among SJHL goaltenders.
