Bombers Storm Back From Series Deficit To Tie SJHL Quarter Final: Powered By HUDBAY

After dropping the first two games in the best-of-seven SJHL Quarter Final in North Battleford, the Bombers have won back-to-back games at the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon to even the series at 2-2.

On Tuesday night, the Bombers shot out of the gate with goals from Brett Wieschorster and Xavier Lapointe to take a 2-0 lead. The North Stars would even the score with two goals in the second period just twenty-three seconds apart from Steven Kesserling and Holden Doell. Rylan Thiessen would give the Bombers the lead for good with his second goal of the playoffs midway through the second period. Drew Kuzma would add an insurance marker with less than five minutes remaining in the third period to seal the win for the Bombers.

The Bombers got off to a slow start in game four, giving up the games first goal less than five minutes into the opening frame until captain Zak Smith would tie the game at one with his first of the playoffs. The North Stars would quickly take the lead again just 1:04 after the Smith goal. North Stars forward Dylan Esau would score his second of the night to give Battlefords a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. The Bombers would storm back with goals from Matt Raymond and Brett Wieschorster to send this game into overtime. A heads up play by defenceman Cory King would begin a 3 on 2 rush for the Bombers with Jacob Vockler ending the contest and evening up the series with his third goal of the playoffs.

Game five is on Friday night in North Battleford with game six back in Flin Flon on Sunday.
