Bombers kick off New Year in a big way

By Adam Ricard- Flin Flon Bombers

BOMBERS RESPOND IN 2019

The Flin Flon Bombers were eager to end the 2018 portion of the season after finishing up on a 3 game losing skid.

The club would respond, and in a huge way. Call it the opening fireworks for 2019 if you will. With Nine goals, five of which came in the first period alone, the Maroon and White entered into 2019 on a very high note.

Brandson Hein (Winnipeg, MB), Donavan Houle-Villeneuve (Montreal, PQ), and Caleb Franklin (White Rock, BC) had two goals each, while Nate Hooper (Winnipeg, Mb), Reid Robertson (Winnipeg, MB), and Daylan Marchi (Lethbridge, AB) would add singles for the Bombers.

Reid Robertson’s goal was also his first career SJHL goal!

Goaltender Jacob Delorme (Drummondville, PQ), was near perfect, stopping 20 of the 21 shots faced.

Flin Flon will now hit the road with stops in Yorkton on Friday, and Melville on Saturday. Then on Tuesday they will meet up in Nipawin for a key matchup against the Hawks, and Friday will see the Bombers visit Melfort for another crucial road game.

Saturday, January 12th has the other end of the head to head matchup, as the Melfort Mustangs will travel to the Whitney Forum for only the 2nd of four Flin Flon home games in the month of January. Puck drop will be 7:30pm.
